Black & White Printing
At thelab@langford, there is a HP Laserjet 9000 black and white
printer (A119). These printers are available to any student who has an ARCH account.
The following policies apply to everyone printing to these printers:
- Each student is allocated 150 pages per semester per College of Architecture
class the student is enrolled in (i.e. 4 classes = 600 pages).
- Additional pages can be purcased at the helpdesk in 40-page blocks for $1 plus
tax. There are no refunds for unused pages.
- Students can print double-sided on duplex-capable printers to conserve their
quota. The page count is cut in half for double-sided print jobs.
- Pages printed in the 1st floor lab are held until the end of the day
after they are printed, after which they are recycled.
- These printers are not available for printing on user-supplied paper.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Any student caught tampering
with any printers in any of the labs will result in restriction and/or loss of printing
privileges. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Color printing and plotting
At thelab@langford, there are six large-format plotters and two color printers. These are
set aside for specialty prints on lab-supplied media. Users are charged for both ink and paper used.
Due to recent maintenance issues, the Langford print servce will print ONLY on media that we purchase for student use.
Prices are calculated at the print desk at the time the print is sent to the print queue. Prices are calculated based on the amount of ink and paper used. A 24x36 plot printed portrait
orientation, using about 38 inches of paper, will cost more than a 24x36 plot printed landscape
orientation, which only uses about 26 inches of paper. Users are charged only for ink and
paper at rates that cover the costs of this ink and paper.
Users are required to provide payment before the print will be sent to the printer or plotter, no exceptions.
The lab only accepts Aggie Bucks for payment, unless the print is being charged to a College of
Architecture account. Users needing to have their plots charged to an account must pick up the appropriate
form at the print desk and have it completely filled out before coming to print.
Once prints and plots are finished, the owner of the print
should be there to pick it up. The lab is not responsible for prints left in the lab.
Any questions regarding these policies should be directed to the helpdesk in Rm. 122 or by calling 979.862.8584.
